All materials used for infrared optics are limited in lifetime when exposed to extreme environmental conditions, humidity, rain, sand storms, strong acids and bases. No material or protective coating is adequate to solve all environmental or sampling problems or provide 100 % protection for a given material and environmental/sampling combination. Since we work with all of the materials of infrared optical materials and customers with a wide variety of applications we have developed a family of coatings which, although not providing 100% protection, can be applied singly or in combination, to significantly extend the lifetime of an infrared optical component.
Our XP-Halide™ and XP-Polymer™ coatings provide high performance and superior protection from high humidity environments. Our CeramSpec™ coating is designed to minimize abrasion from physical contact.
