The diamond window set permits higher force to be applied to the hard sample, flattening it for IR transmission analysis. The diamond windows option includes a set of 2 mounted in stainless steel disks, 13 x 2 mm in size and the clear aperture of the diamond inserted within the center of each circular disk is 2 mm in diameter.

Samples are mounted between IR transparent windows in the transmission sampling mode. In the reflection sampling mode the sample is compressed between a single IR transparent window and an IR reflection plate. IR transparent windows may be standard 13 mm x 1 mm or optional diamond for maximum compression of hard samples. Included cell wrenches enable one to apply sufficient force to the sample for compression in the transmission sampling mode.

    The Spectral Systems Standard Long Wave Pass Filters provide a sharp cutoff below a particular wavelength. Often used for optimizing the infrared spectral analysis region, they isolate broad regions of the spectrum, simultaneously providing high transmission of desired energy and deep rejection of unwanted energy. Constructed of hard, durable first-surface dielectric coatings on optical-quality IR-transmitting substrates, these filters will withstand normal cleaning and handling associated with any high-quality optical component. For your sampling design requirements, we offer the filters in three standard sizes: 12.5, 25 mm and 50 mm diameter. Long Wave Pass Filters are designed to transmit wavelengths greater than the cut-on wavelength of the filter. Long Wave Pass Filters are used to isolate portions of the spectrum in a variety of industrial or life sciences applications including microscopy or fluorescence instrumentation.   • Infrared Neutral Density Filters

    The Spectral Systems Infrared Neutral Density Filters are metallic-coated neutral density (ND) filters which obtain their optical density from a metal alloy coating on a substrate determined by the wavelength region of interest. Unlike the all-dielectric or absorption type, the metallic type ND filter employs a combination of absorption and reflection to reduce the intensity of light. Unlike screen type devices, our ND filters provide a consistent light intensity over the full beam area. Neutral Density Filters are often used to reduce the intensity of the infrared (IR) beam for highly sensitive detectors preserving linearity and improving photometric accuracy. ND Filters are also ideal for evaluating the performance of optical systems and components within a controlled experiment. ND Filters are designed to reduce transmission evenly across a portion of the spectrum by absorbing or reflecting the portion of the light that is not being transmitted.
