Si Disks
Silicon (Si) is a hard material and resistant to most chemicals except for strong acids. It withstands thermal shock. Si has a strong phonon absorption band at 630-590 cm-1, yet transmits well at longer wavelengths than this and well into the far-IR spectral region.
