Flat IR Optics Center of Excellence

In 1981, Spectral Systems established the Flat IR Optics Center of Excellence (FOCE) at our Hopewell Junction location. This site manufactures only flat optics for FTIR instrumentation, military infrared windows, and flat aerospace optics.   

The flattest of beamsplitters. At the core of our business are Potassium Bromide (KBr) beamsplitters. KBr beamsplitters offer up to λ/20 surfaces with multi-spectral coatings transmission from 2µm – 25 µm. Additionally, we manufacture ZnSe, CaF2, and CsI beamsplitters with coatings even further out to 50 µm.  

At the heart of the Hopewell FOCE is our large coating lab with numerous coating chambers. Our coating group prides itself on producing excellent coatings for a wide variety of infrared applications.
